I enjoy working with my customers to achieve the picture they want. During discussions we work through ideas from both sides. I like to produce sketches along the way and the customer has the opportunity to feed back, I never like to start working any image up until the customer is completely happy we are going the right way.

I have worked in black and white for years although the ‘scratchy cartoonish’ style I like to use today has developed in the past few years. I like the movement and energy it gives to my interpretation of the subject. I can also add colour using graphic art pens, acrylic paint or watercolour.

When painting a commission in acrylics I am equally happy producing a cartoonish pet portrait (see ‘Ollie’, ‘Moose’ and ‘Paul’) or a more ‘serious’ interpretation (see ‘Edward’, ‘Dita’ and ‘Murphy’).

I am ever looking to explore new ways of working and enjoy mixing mediums whether it is ink and paint or as in the case of ‘Jet’ acrylic painting and OS map collage.

My commissions have been purchased for birthday presents, wedding presents, Christmas presents or many are bought as a ‘treat for myself’. We all adore are pets and love to have a picture of them on our walls (I confess to several of my own dog’s likenesses adorning our walls at home).

If you would like a commissioned piece, please look through this portfolio and contact me via email or phone to discuss what you would like.
